Washington State currently has the nation’s 9th lowest young adult employment rate, ages 16 to 24, with 43% of young adults employed according to the U.S. Labor Dept. Given the depth and timeliness of the young adult jobs crisis, Community Forums Network (CFN) decided to launch their first statewide “round” of in-person forums and an online survey on the topic of “How to improve young adult employment.”From May 3 through June 17, 2012, 2,328 people shared their opinions on the urgent need to address root causes and to provide long-term solutions for what The Seattle Times calls, the Recession Generation.
